About Me

Photography focused on joyful expression, vibrant colors, and timeless memories

Hi there! My name is Alexis.

I’m a local Montanan grown and raised in the Flathead Valley. I’ve always had a passion for photography because it mixes some of my favorite things; adventure, creativity and meeting new people! I love getting outside to experience the beauty of Montana and I enjoy capturing timeless memories with such a perfect backdrop.

From driving to the top of Glacier’s Going-to-the-Sun Road for a sunset photoshoot to planning a creative session at a location of your choice, I’ll capture memories and photographs that will last you a lifetime. I can’t wait to help make your photography dreams come true!

More About My Work

When teaming up with me for your photo session my top priorities are that you have fun and feel successful and empowered. I love getting clients involved in the process by sharing photos as we go and bouncing ideas off each other. I’m open and receptive to any vision that you have. I focus on capturing genuine moments while incorporating the natural beauty of our surroundings. When editing, I work on enhancing the natural colors, retouching as needed, and focusing on emotion and details. I strive to tell a compelling and genuine story that is uniquely yours.

My hobbies

Some of my favorite activities involve being on the amazing lakes in Northwest Montana—paddle boarding, swimming, kayaking or just relaxing on the shore. I also love hiking and running in nature, especially in Glacier National Park. I recently started my PADI certification to scuba dive! I play guitar and sing country and folk music. I also travel as often as I can and just returned from volunteering at a Surf Hostel in West Kerry, Ireland. I do travel and adventure photography on my expeditions and I enjoy sharing these on my travel blog. Snowboarding is a recent hobby I’ve taken up and I try to get in as many powder days as I can. I am always down for an adventure.

Why I love Montana

Montana is truly the Last Best Place and there is so much to explore. Within a short drive you can lose yourself in the mountains and breathe in the fresh smell of Tamarack pines. Our community is small and close-knit and you’d be hard pressed to spend a day in town without seeing someone you know. When someone needs a helping hand there will always be one close by. I love that as a Montanan there is an unlimited amount of activities on our doorstep. Sharing this experience and sense of community with others is a great aspect of my job and also comes with the territory of being a local. There is a lot of freedom and wilderness here that is unique to our own state.

What got me started on photography

I have always been artistic and would tell my mom, “When I grow up I want to be an Artist!” As a kid I was always drawing, playing outside and taking photos on my digital camera. When I started College I wanted to do a Fine Arts Degree. Then, my last year of school I decided to finish my degree online. I switched from Fine Arts, (drawing and painting) to Media Arts. This showed me a whole new realm of digital art and I fell in love with it! I started documenting my adventures and taking photos of everything that I could. During this time I got a job doing photography with 406 Woman Magazine and started working with a local Glacier National Park elopement photographer. Eventually I was doing weddings and booking jobs on my own. With the outlet of photography I found a new confidence in taking adventures, self expression, and different modes of creativity.

What gives me purpose

Number one is my faith in God and community in Christ. I love Jesus and strive to capture a tiny bit of the beauty of Creation to bring glory to Him. I love using my abilities as a photographer and as a people lover to show others the value in themselves and highlight the amazing world around them. This gift of creativity is my best form of worship. My family is a big part of my life and I am lucky to have a close-knit group of people to encourage me. I also have a love for travel, learning, and connection that inspires me continue to do things that may require their fair share of faith and courage.

Why “ACE” Photography?

While I have always gone by Lexi or Alexis, my initials are ACE. I decided it would make a fun and personal business name! Having the word ACE as a representation for my business inspires me to strive for excellence.
